David Lockington, conductor
William Hill, percussion, composer, visual artist
Our second concert includes two works by living composers. The first piece, Miller's Fantasia on Pachelbel's Canon will also be its world premiere! David Lockington commissioned the second piece approximately 25 years ago, from the composer and visual artist William Hill. This work, Seven Abstract Miniatures, will be performed by the composer himself and will be accompanied by seven slides of Mr. Hill's pen and ink drawings which inspired his composition. We will conclude this performance with the joyful and rhythmic Beethoven Symphony No. 4.
